Region Qamishli town. Originally in Mlahsó and <Ansha villages, Diyarbakir Province, Turkey.
Alternate names   SURYOYO
Classification Afro-Asiatic, Semitic, Central, Aramaic, Eastern, Central, Northwestern.
Comments Close to Turoyo. The last speaker died in 1998. His daughter knows Mlahso well, but is nearly deaf and has no one to speak it to (1999). Mlahso was still spoken by a handful of people during the 1970s. 'Suryoyo' is their own name. A different language from Turoyo, also called 'Suryoyo.' Christian (Jacobite). Extinct.
