Region  Southernmost part of Oaxaca, west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, San José Chiltepec, San Lucas Ixcatepec, plus 15 towns.

Comments  ‘Tequistlateco’ has been used in publications, but true Tequistlateco was spoken in Tequisistlán town, and is now extinct. VS, SV, or VO; medium long words, affixes; nontonal. Swidden agriculturalists.
